The Phillies Eliminate The Mets

Updated: Oct 31, 2023

The Philadelphia Phillies just eliminated the New York Mets from playoff contention... and boy does it feel AMAZING!

First off, FUCK the Mets. Second off, this Phillies team seems to be getting hot at the right time. Taking 2/3 from the Braves on the road and now these past two games.

It's looking like this 1st Wild Card spot is pretty much wrapped up and the Phillies will get a 3 game playoff series at the Bank. Which will be absolutely ELECTRIC!

I cannot write this blog without mentioning Taijuan Walker and Seranthony Dominguez. These two guys showed the hell up tonight and dropped their nuts on the table. Taijuan held his former team to 2 runs over 6 innings of work.

While Seranthony came up CLUTCH in the top of the 10th allowing no runs and getting the win.

If this Phillies team can get 2022 Seranthony Dominguez for this World Series push it would be so big. The Phillies bullpen has been shaky during the 2nd half of the season. Jeff Hoffman has been our most consistent arm. Gregory Soto and Lorenzen are shaky, Alvarado and Matty Strahm seem to be coming around. So if Seranthony can pitch the way he did last year, the Phillies chances to win the Fall Classic go up astronomically.

JT came up big time tonight with a 3 run home run to give the Phils the lead. Has JT had the sneakiest 20 home run season ever in the history of MLB? I mean these 20 home runs have to be the most spread out 20 homers possible. He isn't having good year and he's had 20 bombs? Just crazy to me. Would be pretty awesome if his bat could get hot as we approach Red October.

And we obviously won't forget the man of the hour... ALEC MF BOHM! The Mets decided to intentionally walk Bryce Harper (taking this game super seriously like they weren't 71-82) and Bohm took it, as Deon Sanders would say, "PERSONAL." God this kid keeps showing flashes that he's going to be a special player for awhile. And what way to show your clutch potential like a walk off against the Mets to completely end their season? Let us watch this walk off and enjoy it forever.

PS: Take Rhys Hoskins to hit a home run in the playoffs... it's hitting. - from Beezus
